The golf course offers a mixture of well playable holes and holes that represent a real challenge even for the experienced golfer. A spectacular characteristic of Valle del Este is the tees which are all positioned on small raised platforms surrounded by volcanic rock, as well as the wide, generous fairways.

José Canales, who designed the course, did an excellent job of integrating the course into the rocky and rough surrounding landscape.

The 18-hole par 72 course has been designed in line with the most advanced golf course design trends, seeking to
optimise the potential of the terrain and incorporating all the environmental measures necessary to make the course into an incomparable natural refuge.
The design concept of the course is a direct consequence of this philosophy, whereby in addition to the environmental aspects mentioned above, the maximisation of water resources and reforestation of
vegetation with indigenous species have been taken into account, using trees native to the region such as palms, olives and figs and shrubs such as broom and esparto grass.

The landscaping policy applied throughout the entire development is what makes Valle del Este Resort so unique.
The golf course covers 56 hectares of which approximately one third is irrigated: the fairways, greens and tees. The non-irrigated rough has been left to the natural vegetation of the region, supplementing it with indigenous
varieties.

A large desalinisation plant has been installed for irrigating the Valle del Este golf course, which is fed by saline wells.
The golf course boasts three lakes, one of which is extremely large and picturesque.

In general terms, the course is a generous one in terms of landing areas and has a considerable amount of sand, with fairly large bunkers and very spacious greens.
At practically every hole there are four tee-off platforms, some having up to six, to be able to play both distances and angles. The platform itself is the only part of the tee-off to be irrigated, as the inclines are landscaped with indigenous species.
